The Independent Clubs Stud Register was put in place by the New Zealand Cavy Club when it was formed in 1976. Later for some years it was maintained in conjunction with the Combined Cavy Clubs of NZ until the CCCNZ ceased to exist in April 2015, when the register reverted back to the NZCC only.
Angela Goose maintains the register on behalf of NZCC. Once accepted, a stud name is the property of the applicant for life with no extra annual fees.
